Although Music on the Delaware's Spring 2020 season has officially ended, the organization is pleased to announce that the Virtual House Parties will continue for a summer season. The season will begin on Thursday, June 11, 2020, with balladeer Dennis Thompson opening the show. An end date to the summer schedule is yet to be determined.
As with Virtual House Parties 1 through 10, the summer schedule of mini-concerts will be accessible through Zoom. The performances will be slightly lengthened to 35 to 40 minutes of playing time, with a few minutes of chat time at the end. All Virtual House Parties occur on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. All of the summer concerts can be accessed through this zoom address (CLICK BUTTON BELOW TO ACCESS):
As mentioned above, the June schedule will open on June 11 with Virtual House Party 11. Singer/guitarist Dennis Thompson will offer a program of Irish, folk, and American roots music. Virtual House Party 12 on June 18 will feature singer Jes Sheldon, who recently appeared at the Music on the Delaware Coffeehouse in November of 2019. She will perform a mix of blues and classic rock originals and covers. On June 25, Virtual House Party 13 will present Marvin Zachow, who will be recognized as the fiddler with the Stoddard Hollow Band.
All Virtual House Parties invitations are posted before each concert on Music on the Delaware's Facebook page. In addition, each program is recorded and can be viewed after a concert in the video section of the Music on the Delaware Facebook page.
