The Walton Theatre is inviting all film lovers to join in a festival of short films. This will not be like any other film festival, however. Viewers will be joining more than 100,000 film lovers watching and rating these short films in over 300 theatres on six continents. – “one world, one week, one festival”.
The festival, MANHATTAN SHORT, was established in New York City in 1988. It currently receives over 1500 short film entries from over 73 countries. Each year, entries are selected as finalists for the annual festival. This year nine were selected and these are packaged and distributed to each of the participating venues around the world (United States, Russia, Australia, Africa and more).
This year’s finalists come from New Zealand, USA, Kosovo, United Kingdom, Germany, Hungary, Canada, and Austria.
In Walton, there will be three opportunities to view the films. You only need to attend one showing. The total running time for all 9 films is approximately two hours with a brief intermission. Showings will occur on Thursday, September 27 at 2 and 7 pm, and on Saturday, September 29 at 8 pm.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students and are available at the door or on theatre website.
